GAME GRUMPS ON STORYWRITING FULL
Little did they know the game had a full blown story line that was oddly unique and covered some serious topics in a game intended for children. It’s apparent that they intended for this to be a simple one shot and assumed the game was terrible. To add to the good times, they name the main character after Dan’s own dog(With a twist of course). The jokes spawn left and right, each one better than the last as they travel through town, completing quests for the townsfolk. They start the game making fun of the obnoxious amounts of adorable content presented to them within the first few minutes of starting. If I am going to do a Game Grumps Review of their play through then I may as well cover my personal favorite series to date, The Dog Island which only lasted two episodes and remains unfinished. I hope you enjoy our reviews, we watch every single episode in the series before we write our thoughts and if possible, we’ll note which episodes were the most memorable. I guess it depends on how long they wanna go with each episode. This is our latest set of reviews where we take Game Grumps/Steam Train/Grumpcade episodes and review them to make it easier for fans of Game Grumps to know which ones are must watch( Dog Island) and which ones they can live without seeing( Hotline Miami). Two episodes might be enough but it might take three.
GAME GRUMPS ON STORYWRITING TRIAL
Yeah, it's hard to say if they're going to make it through the whole trial this coming weekend. What's keeping me going is how it's going to go down (the details in game AND their reaction) on their playthrough like 2 weeks from now, since I'm pretty sure we won't get to it next week I'm fairly certain this was spoiled for me as well. Every time I watch through this game I catch new things that are like "Ohhhh, that's funny they said that knowing what I know." (I'll elaborate more after the trial is over and it's not a big spoiler ) Like, you catch so many little things that you don't notice the first time through, but in context with the reveal take on a whole new dimension. Oh, there's one upcoming reveal that upon multiple re-watchings is *amazingly* setup since the start. The most offensive ones I find are when they list the wrong speaker in the dialog box (like it's clear someone else is saying the line but it will write Hajime there) I believe Danganronpa 2 is the worst of it, but all three games have typos like this.
GAME GRUMPS ON STORYWRITING PATCH
Especially when this is a game that could easily just be patched to fix that stuff if they wanted (not like this is on some old format where you can't patch things). I'm honestly shocked they haven't corrected any of them in the many ports/etc they've done (haven't played on Switch but I assume they're all there too). The game is just riddled with unacceptable typos.

The translation/localization is actually pretty great. Hell, the translation of DGR2 in particular has an absolute ton of mistakes. But having said that, you can't just ignore the many, many moments that are very poorly written. Yeah, there's some moments and cases of the series that I think are really, really well imagined and written. It’s actually really clever writing, all the actual bad writing, bad translations, and cheesy prose aside. I will say, when you know some big thing about this game before the reveal, you become painfully aware of how much the game communicates it to you.
